David Thibault is a French Canadian singer and Elvis impersonator. A native French speaker, he is also fluent in English. He attracted media attention as a 16-year-old in December 2013 when he performed a cover of Elvis Presley's "Blue Christmas". After the radio station CKOI-FM uploaded it onto YouTube on December 9, 2013, the cover went viral with almost five million video views within a week. 〔(New York Daily News article )〕 〔(Daily mail article )〕 〔(Huffington post article )〕 〔(Fan Website )〕 On December 23, 2013, Thibault appeared on The Ellen Degeneres Show.〔(Unbelievable Performance by David Thibault )〕 Thibault became interested in Elvis due to his grandfather.〔 He completed his last year of Quebec secondary school in 2013.〔 ==Participation in Season 4 of the talent show ''The Voice: la plus belle voix'' on French TV== He reaches the finals in this reality singing competition, during which he amply gets to demonstrate that he can sing just about anything and that he is not just an Elvis impersonator. He has one of the best voices of this national competition (this is why he reaches the finals), on top of being a real showman compared to more static candidates on stage. He is in control of his performance at just 17 years old. The 16 episodes of the competition are recorded in France from November 2014 to January 2015 and they are broadcast each Saturday evening from January 10, 2015 to April 25, 2015. His blind audition, during which he sings Elvis Presley's ''Blue Suede Shoes'', is broadcast on January 24, 2015 and Florent Pagny is the only coach who turns round.〔 ''Épisode 3 : les auditions à l'aveugle (3)''〕 〔 ( David Thibault (biography, participation in The Voice France, latest news, Twitter address) )〕 Under Florent Pagny's coaching, he wins the battle against Olympe Assohoto and Ketlyn, with whom he sings Johnny Hallyday's ''La Musique que j'aime'', a non-Elvis song, in the episode broadcast on March 7, 2015.〔 ''Épisode 9 : les battles (2)''〕 During the 11th episode, broadcast on March 21, 2015, and still under Florent Pagny's coaching, he sings The Temptations' 1964 hit song ''My Girl''.〔 (David Thibault « My Girl » / The Voice France 2015 (followed by the performances of Azania and Anne Sila, then by the coaches' comments) )〕 He loses to Anne Sila, but coach Mika is allowed to take him on his own team.〔 ''Épisode 11 : L'Épreuve ultime (1)''〕 Mika is the 2015 coach who has sold the largest number of records worldwide.〔 ''Coachs''〕 He joined the contest the previous year and, under his coaching in 2014, the competition winner, Kendji Girac, has managed to transform his victory in ''The Voice France 2014'' into a successful career, for the first time since the beginning of the contest in 2012. Having Mika as a coach is thus a great advantage. During the 13th episode, broadcast on April 4, 2015, and under Mika's coaching, David Thibault sings Avicii's 2013 hit song ''Wake Me Up!''.〔 (David Thibault « Wake Me Up » - The Voice France 2015 (with preliminary advice from coach Mika) )〕 He is chosen by a majority of the viewing audience to stay in the competition, just like teammate Hiba Tawaji. Coach Mika saves a 3rd contestant, but the team's 4th contestant is eliminated from the competition.〔 ''Épisode 13 : prime 1''〕 At this point, there are only 12 contestants left: each of the 4 coaches still has 3 contestants on his/her team. During the 14th episode, i.e. the quarter-finals broadcast on April 11, 2015, all 12 contestants must sing a song imposed on each of them by the viewing audience. One contestant will be eliminated in each of the 4 teams. The winners will be able to participate not only in the semi-finals, but also in the French tour starting on May 29, 2015. David Thibault sings The Cure's 1985 hit song ''Close to Me''.〔 (David Thibault « Close To Me » (The Cure) / The Voice France 2015 (performance followed by comments by coaches Mika and Florent Pagny) )〕 His teammate Hiba Tawaji is saved by the viewing audience and he is saved by his coach Mika.〔 ''Épisode 14 : prime 2 (Quarts-de-finale)''〕 During the 15th episode, i.e. the semi-finals broadcast on April 18, 2015, David Thibault sings Beyoncé's 2003 hit song ''Crazy in Love''.〔 (David Thibault « Crazy In Love » / The Voice France 2015 (with comments/praise by coaches Mika, Zazie and Florent Pagny afterwards )〕 With his teammate Hiba Tawaji, he also sings Carson Parks's song ''Somethin' Stupid'', best known as a hit song interpreted by Frank Sinatra and his daughter Nancy Sinatra in the 1960's.〔 (Hiba Tawaji & David Thibault « Something Stupid » / The Voice France 2015 )〕 David Thibault is elected by both the viewing audience and coach Mika, thus gets to participate in the finals. Hiba Tawaji is eliminated, but will participate in the French tour.〔 ''Épisode 15 : prime 3 (Demi-finale)''〕 During the 16th and last episode, i.e. the finals broadcast on April 25, 2015, David Thibault sings Michael Jackson's song ''Black or White'', imitating the latter's famous moonwalk.〔 (David Thibault « Black Or White » (Michael Jackson) / The Voice France 2015 finale )〕 He then sings a duet with French prominent pop singer Véronique Sanson, interpreting her song ''On m'attend là-bas''. He finally sings a duet with his coach Mika, interpreting ''Your Song'', Elton John's first hit single in 1970.〔 ( Mika et David Thibault chantent « Your Song » - Finale The Voice France 2015 )〕 Only the (French) viewing audience gets to vote this time. French competitor Lilian Renaud wins the competition with 52% of the votes, female French singer Anne Sila gets the second position with 34% of the votes, Canadian David Thibault get the third position with 9% of the votes, and French singer Côme gets 5% of the votes.〔 ''Épisode 16 : prime 4 (Finale)''〕 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「David Thibault」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
